I Got a Rock!

Today I let my youngest daughter watch the classic "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" DVD. She liked it, of course!However, later that day I could hear her in the other room saying over and over, " I got a rock, I got a rock." I laughed so hard! Of all the things she would have picked out to say, she chose that. That has been a line that has been quoted in my family for ages! It brought back memories. It was also a moment that made me think, yep, she belongs in our family.

Memory Lane Monday

Over the 4th of July this year my family had a reunion. I am a descendant of Captain James Brown. This is me and my family in front of a memorial for the great Captain.

The Reality of my Spirituality

Last night I was preparing a lesson for church today. I had a very spiritual experience. I would like to share one scripture from the lesson. St. John 8: 32- And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. I have found the gospel of Jesus Christ to be truth, and it has definately set me free!

Old Movie Night!

Tonight was old movie night! Once a month I get together with the young women in my church and we watch an old movie together. We started in August and have kept going. It's a hoot! Tonight's feature film was The Major and The Minor starring Ginger Rogers. "Cornelia, darling, you beguiling creature!" I think I'm going to add this to my wishlist!

Blogestivation

Many types of toads estivate (it's like hibernating, just a little different) during hot summer conditions. They can burrow underground and hang out until conditions are suitable. I've taken after this Western Spadefoot toad in relation to my blog these past five months. However, I'm finding conditions suitable to blog again. As my Dad always says, "There are toads about!", so keep your eyes open!

One week on and two weeks off!
