Stuff

Well, it's Thursday. Yesterday I had Young Women in Excellence. It went well. Our theme was "TNT", you know, dynamite. It stood for "Time N' Talent". It was a blast! Hee, hee....

Today Ethan had his first pack meeting. He's in the Wolf Pack! We all got to go. He led the pledge of allegiance, and did a nice job. He's really enjoying cub scouts.

I also got caught up on my dishes! Anyway, our lives are filled with stuff. Sometimes it's new and exciting, and sometimes it's just dishes. I guess I just want to say that I'm grateful for all the stuff that fills my life. I'm learning everyday, and I really like it.

Autumn!

It's October 1st! That means fall is just around the corner! (For Ridgecrest, that is.) I've been so pleased at the cool mornings lately. It still gets hot in the afternoon, but, at least the mornings and evenings are nice and cool. I can't wait to wear sweaters, warm snuggly hats, long pants, and jackets, drink hot drinks, and celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving. I have to admit, fall is my favorite season! Hooray for FALL!

My cup has been filled...

My cup has definately been filled this weekend. I was able to attend the General Relief Society Broadcast this weekend. It was fantastic! I have come away feeling renewed as a daughter of God, a wife, and mother. One of my favorite messages came from President Uchtdorf. Basically he said that the prayers we say each day are very important, however, those prayers we answer each day are of more importance! I'm excited to look for opportunities to serve those around me! This was just one of the things that touched me. So, ya'll that went, what were your thoughts?

Primary Program

Today the kids participated in the Primary Program at church! It was Phoebe's first program. This year was very neat, as the kids wrote their own parts. The theme this year is "I am a Child of God". Anyway, I thought I would share the kids lines with you.

Phoebe: "My Dad tickles me all over, he makes forts, and he plays Fi-fi-fo-fum, and when I'm eight he can baptize me.

Olivia: "I like to learn about the prophets in the scriptures. I read the scriptures in the morning. I am trying to be like Nephi by obeying my Mom and Dad.

Ethan: "Next month I am going to be baptized. My friends and my whole family are going to be there. I am excited to put on white clothes and go under the water. It will be special because my Dad is going to baptize me. I think it will be neat to have the Gift of the Holy Ghost so I can have help when I need it."

Photo Tag

A friend of mine photo tagged me. This is how you do it: go to your 4th photo file and pick the 4th picture and post a little bit about it. This is a picture of Phoebe when she was first born. I crocheted the little hat she is wearing. Phoebe was born Aug. 5th 2004. I made her hat yellow because Phoebe means "bright and shining". She is just that! Wow, time flies!

Who's Driving This Train?

Bullet train, bullet train, oh, oh, oh....Phoebe likes to listen to Choo Coo Soul on Playhouse Disney, and I've been feeling like I'm on the bullet train. Here is a highlight of the events that happened in September. Hopefully after this month I'm switching the bullet train for a nice little steam train!

The second week of school Olivia was out for Chicken Pox! Yes, she had the vaccine, but, she still got it. It was a mild case, thank goodness, but, nevertheless she had to miss her second week at school. These pictures don't do her justice, they were almost clearing up when I remembered to take pictures.

Then we started Joyschool! We had the first week at my house. This is Phoebe's last year of Joyschool before kindergarten. This is my 5th year teaching, and I have to say that this week was the best week I have ever taught! I'm so excited for this year!

Then it was my 30th Birthday! It was on Sunday, the 7th. The kids gave me presents and Derek made me a cake. It was great! I love being 30! I get to celebrate more later too. Me, my mom, and sister are going to celebrate more next month by going to Wicked! I'm soooo excited!

Then Ethan had his 8th birthday, which was fun! I've already posted about that and the fact that he's taking piano lessons. However, there is still more to come. Ethan also started cub scouts last
weekend. He is really excited. Next month is his baptism, so stay tuned to that!

Gina is as cute as ever. Here is her aaaahh, for ice cream! How can we resist?
Well, I'd better put the caboose on this train, or it will go on forever. We had other fun things happen with mutual, and working on the house, but, that will have to come later. Thanks for coming by to see the train!

Piano Man

Ethan began piano lessons on Aug. 27th. He loves it! He likes to practice every day. I don't get the, "Mom, what can I do?" anymore. When he has a spare moment he plays on the piano! It has been great to have music come to our home. Even the girls "practice" the piano. Anyway, enjoy these clips of Ethan playing. Sorry about the piano, it's old, and we haven't had it tuned yet!

This is Ethan after his first week of piano lessons.

This is Ethan today (4 weeks later).
