Beauty in the Desert

Many people find the desert to be ugly. I find it beautiful and fascinating. Living here really makes you get excited about all the little things that happen. For the most part it is always sunny. So, when we have clouds, we notice, if it rains we celebrate, if it happens to snow the whole town has a party. No kidding. Our second year here it snowed and everyone went home from school as well as those working on base. Derek said they let them go home so they could play in the snow with their families. Spring is also a beautiful time. When we get enough rain we are blessed with wildflowers. Here is what Death Valley looks like in spring when we actually have rain. Also, Phoebe and I found a beautiful flower growing in our yard the other day. My neighbor says it's a gazinia. There is beauty all around.....
