Week Review: March 7th-March 14

As you may have noticed, I don't post every day. I am constantly reorganizing my life, so, maybe one day I will post everyday. Until then, when it rains, it pours.

Friday, March 7th: This is what we call a Flex friday. Those that work on the base get every other Friday off. It's fantastic. Anyway, today was Olivia's concert. All four kindergarten classes have been learning patriotic songs as a tribute to our country. They were all very cute and energetic singing their songs and saying their parts. I was touched. Olivia had a blast! It was hard to get a good picture, but, Olivia is on the third row, 4th child from the left. All the kindergarten kids have a white "Events" t-shirt. Every time they do something fun, something special, or have a holiday, they paint a picture on the shirt to represent that event. After we had great refreshments: fruit, mini bagels, mini muffins, juice, etc. Good job Olivia!

Saturday, March 8th: Today was a busy day! The kids had a birthday party to go to. It was a bike-a-thon! We had a blast! We went to a park on base where there are some old roads that aren't well used. The kids registered, got a number, a snack bag with water, and we were off! It was great to get out in the sun. We've been sporting 75-80 degrees here. Once they finished their course they got a cupcake, a certificate, and a hotwheels car! Happy Birthday Gavin, and thanks for the awesome birthday party!

Today was also special because Neville Hardbottom came out today! Spring has officially arrived in Ridgecrest! For those that don't know, Neville is our tortoise we named after Neville in Harry Potter. He sleeps underground from about October to March. Welcome back Neville!

Sunday, March 9th: Today was great. We went to church and then had a relaxing day with the family at home.

Monday, March 10th: For Family Home Evening today we rode bikes in our circle and we planted some nasturtium in our courtyard. Here are some pictures of the outside of our fixer-upper. Is this what you wanted to see Lena?

Tuesday, March 11th: Today I went and played stake basketball. They have the women and the young women combined on a team. We were supposed to play 4th ward, but, they didn't show, so, we played 3 on 3. I'm not a basketball player, but, I go to support the girls. Thank goodness I don't have pictures of this!

Wednesday, March 12th: I went to mutual tonight. I work with the Laurels, 16-17 year old girls, we did a genealogy night. We each brought things like heirlooms or fun stories about our ancestors. We had a great time sitting around talking about our heritages.

Thursday, March 13th: I went to the Relief Society Enrichment night tonight. Wow! It was great! I'll share more about this on the 17th! Stay tuned!

Friday, March 14th: Well, it's finally Friday! The kids have been getting out of school an hour early since Wednesday. We are having parent teacher conferences. Ethan and Olivia are doing great! They have a friend playing over, and I'm blogging! Tonight, Derek and I are going to go dancing with our neighbors down the street. Whoo, hoo! Date Night!

Sis. Rick's and her husband sometimes go to the church on non-Flex Fridays when the building isn't being used and dance. Well, now they are making it a "Relief Society" special interest group. The bishop approved it. So, non-flex Fridays when we have the building and no one is using it, we can go dancing! You can come if you want. Verity, we'll keep it up so you guys can come when you get back!:)
